Large amounts of frazil ice in Þjórsá accumulates and forms the Urriðafoss ice jam, the largest freeze-up jam in Iceland. In this report, results from runs of the ice production model by Gröndal (2003) are presented and discussed for the years 2000-2006. The intention of the study at hand is to improve the ice production model, which has been run on a 8 x 8 km grid with 6 hour temporal resolution. |
